Monday at a tour event usually means practice and some holes. This week's a little different as it's a celebrity tournament (celebrities to come later), so the pro-am was today. We actually played with 4 guys from Michigan! Nice guys but a long, long day. Not their fault but they hadn't touched a golf club since September! Needless to say, the team wasn't so competitive. Again, weather is unseasonably weird--65 degrees and drizzle. We hear that it'll clear up and work up to 90 by Wednesday. That's more like the south!
We'll have a good two practice days Tuesday and Wednesday. We'll need it as this week the event is played over three different courses.
I'm gonna start a few new features to the post tomorrow that will hopefully be interesting and funny. Stay tuned and keep reading. I'm out, hitting the sack soon.

Hey Tom. Did you see any Asians in Greenville today??
ReplyDeleteHey Tom. It's me anonymous again. When u use compass in tournament is it true north or magnetic north??
ReplyDeleteI saw 1 asian, Justin Hicks. And he was a waiter. Usually we work the rice paddies, but sometimes we get edumacated and move up to waiting tables. I am surprised by how many Asians are in Greer, SC! I feel like I'm walking the streets of Bangkok!
ReplyDeleteAs far as north, I find magnetic north to be most effective in finding out from where the prevailing wind blows. But really, and don't tell Justin, I just draw lines and make up elevations and slope readings. Smoke and mirrors my friend!
ReplyDeletewhat up tom!!! missed ya man!!! i was dumbfounded to find you gone, but im glad to get an e-mail from you. lets stay in touch. Rushdan Islam. rislam79@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteoh yeah good luck luck out there wit justin on tour
I'm liking more of the Mr. Myagi or sensai nickname than Mr. Chow.
ReplyDeleteTo Rushdan, thanks for the shout out...yeah, out on tour and learning a lot and meeting lots of people and seeing a side of professional golf few see. I am fortunate. I hope you are well and your game is good. Keep on following and keep on playing!
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous, Justin actually suggested both of those nicknames but they seem dated and too obvious. If you get the Mr. Chow reference, it's current and, I find, hilarious!
Can you publish what your yardage book looks like after you've factored in wind and slopes?
